Ethiopia is the birthplace of Arabica. Coffee beans have been grown here for more than a thousand years. The share of Ethiopian coffee in the world market is only 3%. Coffee also accounts for more than 30% of export profits. Sidama is one of the most fertile regions of Ethiopia. Green Sidamo coffee is grown in the province of Sidama in the Ethiopian Highlands at altitudes from 1500 to 2200 meters above sea level. These indicators qualify the grains as strictly tall. It is believed that coffee originated in and around this region.
